Meet Candace — Chief Critter Creator
Candace is the one-woman whirlwind behind The Squirrelly Studio. All the squirrels, spiders on leashes, and electric insects? Yep — all from her wonderfully quirky imagination (she swears it’s just how her brain works).

She paints in her spare time — which, as mom of two busy boys and one very good dog, means whenever the house is quiet enough to hear herself think (rare, but magical). Home is a cozy spot on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, where she finds inspiration in the everyday chaos, the beauty of nature, and the occasional talking animal (don’t ask). And of course, there’s her supportive husband who’s always along for the ride.

Her art is playful, curious, and a little bit weird — just the way she likes it.
Hi!
I’m Candace! I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was little, I’ve had a love for creating, and over the years, painting became my favourite way to bring my ideas to life. What started as a simple hobby turned into a passion, and now it’s my way of escaping into a world where squirrels can play volleyball and bees aren't just black and yellow!
For a long time, my art stayed tucked away in a book. But since I started sharing it on TikTok, and the kind words I've gotten, it’s inspired me to take the next step and share my creations with the world — because there’s so much more to show than what’s hidden in the pages.
As for my painting style, I work mainly with watercolours, embracing their unpredictability. It’s all about letting the colours flow, sometimes spilling over into unexpected places, and giving each piece its own story.
